Longitudinal Pancreatico-gastrostomy, A Quest for a Better Salvage for Chronic Pancreatitis in Bangladesh: An Outcome Analysis of Our Early Cases

Background: Chronic pancreatitis being one of the most distressing medical condition, is often complicated by common bile duct obstruction, fibrosis and acute inflammation pancreas. Pain, weight loss diabetes are in these patients. Surgery ultimate option after treatment fails to solve distress. Longitudinal Pancreatico-jejunostomy widely practiced all over world as choice. Pancreatico-gastrostomy also a few surgeons centers. Here we practice Pancreaticogastrostomy (LPG) for chronic patients our setup. This study was aimed analyze outcomes privileges LPG. Method: prospective monitored guided Department Hepatobiliary Pancreatic Surgery, Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital, Dhaka period 18 months. A total 36 with were allocated surgery.
